Frequently Asked
Questions
Will NexGenT place me in a job?
While we do not place individuals in positions, we do walk with them throughout the entire job search process, making sure they have the tools such as resumes, cover letters, social media presence, and the training for networking and interviewing. Employers will want to meet and interview you in person. We will help you understand the process, what to expect, and how to handle it. In addition, we do have a new and quickly growing employer network where we can help students get introductions to employers.
How soon can I apply to jobs in the program?
It’s best to have some projects and a good resume to send out before you start applying. You will have a solid foundation to start applying to IT jobs when you are about 2/3rds done with your program. Throughout your program, we have weekly content that will help prepare you for applying to jobs.
Will someone help me with my resume? (cover letter, LinkedIn, interview, etc)
Absolutely. Your Career Success Coach will work with you on your resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, mock interviews, and more. You will continue to work with your Career Success Coach on each until it is considered employer ready!
